These are slim and well fitting, works well for blocking out the shrill noise of a baby or a dog barking. They also help with reducing stress, as you don't hear random cars / AC running with these.The noise reduction rating is very important if you use in a loud environment, such as a gun range. This product includes an attenuation sheet (didn't find it on Amazon). For 1-3 kHz range (most firearms), the attenuation is approximately 27db @ 1kHz, 32 @ 2kHz, 37db @ 3kHz, with a standard deviation of about 2.5. You'll definitely want to use ear plugs as well to boost the noise reduction to protect your hearing. I use Mack's 33 db disposal ones, which are very affordable and work marvelously.In addition to the NRR, another thing prevents these from being good range muffs is that they are "tall". No issues for pistols, but if you do rifles and do a cheek to stock hold, they can get in the way. You can adjust the position to be OK, but I'd recommend getting the fatter, higher protection ear muffs for a range.These notes aside, they are very comfortable for every day wear. I have higher rated muffs with vinyl sidings, and those are much more rigid and less comfortable. These I can wear for a long time.Overall, good buy. Just note if you do intend for shooting, definitely pair with ear plugs as well.
